P.S I Still Love You
Author: Jenny Han
Series: To All the Boys I've Loved Before #2
Genre: YA, Contemporary, Romance
Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.
She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever.
When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?
In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Times bestseller To All the Boys I've Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean. Love is never easy, but maybe that’s part of what makes it so amazing.
It's so satisfying to see Lara-Jean and Peter being an actual couple now, especially after shipping them when they weren't a couple back in book one.
I don't know what to feel about Peter's relationship with Genevieve. I don't know if Genevieve wants to remain friends with him just to somehow win him back. I'm not saying this because I don't trust Peter, or think that he would cheat on Lara-Jean, it's just that his ignorance regarding this subject is really, really pissing me off.
The story, however, was fun, cute, and more importantly - extremely consistent. Its consistency, despite having the more childish narration from Lara-Jean that I'm not quite used to allow me to get used to it (and eventually like it).
What I liked most about this series is how this story is not just completely about the "relationship" between Lara-Jean and Peter, it's sole series surrounds around Lara-Jean and Lara-Jean alone, the only reason Peter is the main character in this series is that he is someone important in her life. This can be shown through the lack of dependency toward this relationship and how Jenny Han still took time to let us experience Lara Jean's personal life aside from her boyfriend. I really appreciate this aspect of the series.
P.S I Still Love You was really enjoyable to read, and it kept up the excellent momentum of the series for me to want to read more, and continuously give me more reasons to care about Peter and Lara-Jean's relationship as well as Lara-Jean's life and well-being as a character.
