Khalid, The Wrath and the Dawn by Reneé Ahdieh
I actually feature Khalid on Quotey Tuesday this week. He's viewed as a monster by his people (which of course he's not), and he is, and I quote, "Cold as ice to everyone else, but a summer's breeze to my sister (Shazi)". That, ladies and gentlemen, is the kind of guy I love in books.
I greatly recommend The Wrath and the Dawn to readers who love retellings, and books where the guy is cold toward everyone except the heroine. This is also a Thousand Nights retelling, where Shazi, our heroine, was first suppose to kill Khalid (which is why she married him), but ended up falling in love with him instead.
